Memento Mori
“Memento Mori,” life whispers slowly
To point me to what’s true
I hold her sweetly, as death draws near me
Stealing from my youth
Hide and seek, though outcome bleak
A game for fevered few
Die each moment, each death so potent
Dissolving thru and thru
Memento Mori, death waits for me
And await her kiss, I, too.
